I started this business with a very different intent from the get go. My main focus was to loose the baby weight that I had put on. At that point in my life I had reached a very low point. I was 200 lbs when I delivered my daughter. I was un happy and severely depressed. At one point I left my 2 month old on the living room floor and I left the house for a couple of hours. I felt awful and sick to my stomach, but I was so low, I did not know what I was going to do to myself. That is about when my husband asked me to see a Doctor for depression. I was already on a light dose of Zoloft (antidepressant), and it was not working. I was immediately told that I had a slew of issues. Postpartum depression, anxiety and ADD. Needless to say my meds were upped greatly. I knew that the change that I needed had to be greater than this. I knew that I did not want to be on those meds forever and I knew that I did not want to look like this forever. There had to be more to life than huffing and puffing up the stairs, and laying on the couch all day between napping, getting up to feed and hold the baby, and staring blankly at the television.
For over a year I watched my friend Leslie Kortes loose over 50 lbs. She would post such positive things on Facebook. She was this beam of light that I would see every day. I had done P90x 2 years prior and she had mentioned
to me that she was a coach and that I should join. I was prepping for a wedding and started a brand new career. I was not ready for that commitment. One night while searching for a weight loss answer I saw that Leslie had posted about her challenge group. She then invited me to a business opportunity webinar. I was skeptica
l, but I had some free time on my hands and I figured why the heck not. At that point I had just quit my job because I wanted to be home with my daughter and I was not 100% certain I wanted to work in that field any longer (its amazing how having a baby will totally change your mind set). I sat through 10 minutes of the webinar, and a light switch went on. It was like something ignited within in me. The webinar was called getting “physically and financially fit.” Both things I was desperately in need of. The woman on the webinar inspired me to no end. She was so happy, and so fit! I said to myself, heck yea I want that. I was not sure how I was going to get there, but I said to Leslie “However I need to get started, lets do it.” I had to beg my husband as we were pretty darn broke. We were living on
a 30K income with a new baby, and I had just quit my job. Something told me that this was going to make a change in our lives. I had this massive feeling that this was going to bring us some money and bring me the weight loss I so needed.
I told Leslie that I had to think about it, but then she offered me a $25 rebate, I told my husband, and he said ” are you sure about this? If this is how you want to allocate our funds, then you better make it worth our while.” I had no doubt. I knew I would not fail. I knew that this was going to change everything. Was it God? Was it my faith? Or was it the fact that everything just felt right? Probably! So I started Chalean Extreme, and Shakeology. I shared shared shared on my Facebook. I was falling so in love with my challenge group, my program and Shakeology, its all I wanted to do (besides play with my new baby). I started to become so passionate about my weight loss, I wanted everyone else in the world to join me. I told everyone about the amazing journey that I was on. People were asking me daily “how did you loose so much weight, you look amazing.”
My passion for what was going on in my life translated to pay checks. As the paychecks grew, I got hooked to the business side of being a beach body coach. I got hooked to seeing others make a major change in their lives, and the growing paychecks excited my family and I. God knows we needed it. The most thrilling moment and the moment when I decided that I wanted this to be my lifetime career is when my best friend of 15 years told me that Shakeology reversed her fatty liver, and issues with diabetes. I watched her fall in love with Shakeology and fitness, and I watched her shed lbs. I saw the changes in her and knew I was in the right place!
I followed Leslie (my upline sponsor) and learned everything t
hat she was doing. I dedicated 1 to 2 hours a day to doing what other coaches were doing. Within 6 months I lost 60 lbs, started earning a consistent $200 a week, and never looked back. I more than paid for my challenge pack, I started to see a part time income growing and I never had to leave my house. I looked for other ways to grow my biz and I became a Turbo Kick instructor. I started to pack out my free class, and started reaching more and more people face to face. The friends ships and relationships I was creating was changing my life and my business. Within two months of my first $200 paycheck I had an offer from my previous job to come back to work. They offered me an amazing opportunity. At that point my husband and I thought it would be a good idea to give it a try and see how things would work in with returning to work, my part time business and raising a daughter. We were living paycheck to paycheck and wanted to see our lives move forward faster. I thought I was doing the best thing for my family. About 1 month before returning to that job I received my first $500 pay check. My
weekly checks were averaging $400-600. My job was mundane. I was not happy there. It was taking so much time away from my family and my business. Yea I could coast through the job and receive all of those great perks, but my business was tugging at my heart. I wanted so badly to be home with my daughter more, and to work in something that I was passionate about. I knew that at that very moment, I was destined to work a a career in which I was passionate about what I was doing. It was like pulling teeth to go to work everyday. I grew cranky, and flat out miserable. After 4 months of my pay check form beach body staying a consistent $400-500 a week, I decided to take a leap of faith, and quit that job. Thanks to Beachbody I was able to leave that job, and work in a career that I was passionate, and be home with my daughter. This is a massive leap of faith, I gave up such a cushy financial situation, but I learned a very valuable lesson. You have to love what you do in order to be good at it.
Since leaving my job, I have watched my paychecks grow to $700-1000 a week. I am not turning back. I am not slowing down. I love my life, my career, and what it is doing for my family.
